It is with great sadness that I am sending out this note. Due to the economic situation I am going to have to close the store. It has been a great pleasure getting to know all of you.

We will be holding our February classes. Kim will be moving her Felt Flowers calss to Feb. 14th, at 12:30 pm.

I will not be having the 20 card class on March 21st, but I have several of the cards done. I am going to have these available for you to come in and make them when it is convenient for you. The cost will be $1.00 per card. I will have this available while supplies last. Please call to set up a time. (218) 624-4722.

I do not have a definate closing date, but I figure it will be towards the end of March. Thank you everyone for your support over the last 12 years. I wish you all a wonderful 2009.

Did you know you can stamp with ink to decorate t-shirts? Learn the techniques and about the ink in this class. Please bring a white t-shirt that has been washed in ONLY soap and air-dried. (Fabric softener or dryer sheets will not let you stamp or maintain the ink. This only applies to the first time you ink. The shirts are washable as normal, once set.)

We just wanted to show a few photos of the new Hero Arts stamps that are in the store. This release is gorgeous!!! Beautiful stamps and they have new Shadow ink pads. Much deeper color than the older version, but still that great look!
Look at all the fun backgrounds! They are gorgeous with Watermark in or embossed in white! ;)

Lots of owls, there are apples, cute little dolls, lots of leaves and trees, and beautiful flourishes and flowers.

Hero has released several 12" stamp setsm perfect for scrapbooking or having a large image on a card. Our favorite is the sentiment set on the right. We also have the new catalog in, which is full of tons of inspiration.

Yes, its time to think about making Valentines. There are some really great new stamps and American Crafts papers available!

Our late winter/early spring class schedule will be coming out soon, so keep an eye out for it!

Making Mini Notecards with Spellbinders Nestabilties

Using any of your dies, you can make small notecards.

Cut and score a piece of cardstock to be slightly larger than your die.
Place the SCORED edge of your card just below the edge of the die.
(if you place the score OVER the edge, it will cut the card in half, or if you place the card just on the edge, the pattern will impress into your card slightly.)
A plate, C plate (you are Cutting), die (rough-side up), card, B Plate.
Run it through the machine.
Here it is:

Creating a Medallion for a Focal Image with Spellbinders Nestabilities

This technique creates a unique place to put an image on a card.
Because you are only embossing, it is acceptable to place one die rough-side up and the other die rough-side down.
This placement will create a large inside edge:
(A plate, B plate, dies, your card, 3 sheets of cardstock, tan embossing mat, B plate)

This placement will create a large outside edge:
(A plate, B plate, dies, your card, 3 sheets cardstock, tan embossing mat, B plate)
Large outside edge:
Circles are fabulous for this technique also.

Making Window Cards and Embossed Window Cards with your Spellbinders Nestabilities

Making A Window Card:
To make a window card, I always start by scoring my card, to allow the die to be placed in the location I desire.
For this card, I am going to use an oval die.
Place the die on your card and then hold it in place with a piece of low-tack tape, or just put a little lint from your pants on a piece of double-sided tape. A small piece is enough to hold it securely.
REMEMBER: You MUST cut rough-side up with your dies. Not doing that can ruin your Cuttlebug, its plates, and your Nesties.
Top with your B plate, run it through, and here it is:

Embossing the Window Edge:
If you would like, you can also emboss the edge around your window.
Place a scallop that fits around the window and secure with a small piece of low-tack tape.
Remember, the die has to be rough-side up!
Top with 3 sheets of cardstock, the tan embossing mat, and a B plate.
Run it through the machine.
Here is what it looks like:

If you want to just emboss shapes into your card, follow these same steps. Do each shape one at a time, using a small piece of low-tack tape to secure the die.

Cutting and Embossing with Spellbinders Nestabilities

Cutting and embossing are two separate steps with the Nestabilities. I will be showing you how cut and emboss with the Cuttlebug.

CUTTING:
With the Cuttlebug, you start with the A plate, then the C plate (C for Cutting).
You place the die rough side up. The ridge is the what will cut the paper. The inside edge is what will emboss.
Then cover with your paper and a B plate.
Run it through the machine. And this is what it will look like, after you remove the excess paper. There you have a shape. Use it as-is, or follow the next steps to emboss.

EMBOSSING:
As you remove the B plate and the paper, make sure and leave the paper inside the die. You can take it out, but it can be tricky to place perfectly into the die again for an even embossing edge.

You will need to change your plates to emboss. Start with the A plate, then a B plate (emBoss).

The key to embossing is the Tan Embossing Mat. In the Cuttlebug, you will need to use 3 sheets of cardstock and the tan embossing mat.
Place the die rough-side up. Top with 3 sheets of cardstock. Make sure that when you place the Tan Embossing Mat next, that it is over the die. Top with a B plate.
Run it through the machine. Here is what the embossed edge looks like:

I personally love the chipboard add-ons (above photo, left). They are self-adhesive chipboard stickers. They are the perfect size for scrapbooking AND stamping, which doesn't happen too often. Prima Esprit flowers.

This is a close-up of the above flowers-GORGEOUS! They are shimmery and beautiful!!
Small, shiny flowers for the centers of all your Primas or any other flower. These need some Glue Dots, so stock up on those too.

Fancy Felt Matties come 3 colors in one package. It is thin, intricately, die-cut felt. Beautiful-once again, perfect for cards or layouts.
Look at these! Self-adhesive felt. Simliar to Felt Fusion from Queen & Co, but these are so much more delicate. There are 3 in a package. These Art Strips are 12 " long.

Look at all the new goodies at the store!!
This is the new Fiskar's Threading Water punch. This is hot, hot, hot! There are waiting lists everywhere for this-and Sue has a couple!!!
Here is an example of what the punch looks like used on a card. And make sure and check out the other gorgeous border punches that arrived too!

Who doesn't love cupcakes? We have tons of stamps-small to large, clear and wood mounted.

These new felt pieces from Provo Craft are cute and self-adhesive! There are also yellow and blue stars-perfect for baby cards and announcements!

I saw this in a magazine recently and though it was a must-have! It not only punches, but it leaves (no pun intended) the vein lines embossed in the paper!!
Wouldn't it be beautiful with gold ink rubbed onto the veins?
These are lovely too-Bazzill Bling Brads. They have a pearlescent finish and are the larger sized brads. They would be gorgeous in the center of a flower for sure!

At The Stamping Post, we call her "The Glitter Lady." In this class you will decorate a wooden serving tray with fabric and glitter glue. Please bring a pair of sewing scissors or sewing shears to cut material. We have examples in the store of what will be done. You have to see the sample to see how fun and pretty these trays are!

Sat. June 14th, Explosion Box with Carol Johnston assisted by Joy Kurz
10am-1pm. $30.
In this class you will make a 4 x 4 decorative explosion box that opens to show layers of pockets which can be used as a photo album or to hold memorabilia. Please bring abone folder, mini glue dots, favorite adhesive, photos (no bigger than 4 inches)-black andwhite or sepia would work best, and a cutter to crop them. The sample is beautiful, after seeing it you will want to take the class.

Purchase the binder from the store also.
We will use the 9 x 9 Bare Naked Binder from Bo Bunny and use several Basic Grey Papers, numerous ephemera andaccessories and techniques to "dress" the binder and turn it into a lovely photo album, recipebook, journal, or whatever your imagination dictates. If you have pictures you would like toput in the book(3 x 5's or 4 x 6's) please bring them to class and we will work them in.
This class time includes a half and hour for lunch

Don will also be doing a "6 in 60" from 2:45p.m. to 3:45p.m. $35.00

Sat. July 19th, Chipboard Flowers In a Clear Pail with Charlotte.

10am-noon. $25

Create adimensional flower arrangement in a clear paint pail, using clear floral stamps from ArtWarehouse. Your flowers can later be used for embellishing cards, pages, or decor itemsPlease bring a self-healing rubber mat, x-acto knife, detail scissors, and file kit (if you have one).

In this class everything you need to makethe cards is set up at 20 different stations. You will move from station to station, making onecard at each station, and making as many of the 20 as you are able to in two hours. Coloredcopies of each card are also included in the price of the class.

Saturday, August 9th, New Stuff with Sue Wentz.

10am-12pm. $25.

Make eight new projects using someof the great new tools and supplies that are available now.

Sat. Aug. 16th, "Back-To-Basics": Resist Stamping with Charlotte.

10am-noon. $18.

Whether you area beginning stamper or consider yourself experienced, add to your technique skills with this class. You’ll make four cards, each with a variation on the technique.

All classes will be based on the "Clearly Inspired" stamps from Paper Inspirations and will feature various techniques.
$35.00 per class or take all 5 for $150.00
Saturday will be three classes;
10a.m. to 12p.m.(4 cards)
12:30p.m. to 1:30p.m.(6 cards in 60 minutes)
2p.m. to 4p.m.(4 cards)
Sunday will be two classes;
